Ukraine says cyberattack hit Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries amid drone strikes

Ukraine’s military intelligence claimed it disrupted the operations of Russia’s largest online marketplace, Wildberries, in a cyberattack intended to amplify the impact of drone strikes on the company’s infrastructure.

The operation was reportedly carried out in cooperation with the Cyber Corps hacker group and caused “widespread disruption,” despite the target’s “strong security measures.”

Ukraine has targeted the retailer, which is compared to Amazon because of its scale and extensive logistics network, with drones in recent months.

The attack affected Wildberries’ customer service, contact centers and payment infrastructure, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) said in a statement on Saturday.

“Numerous complaints were reported, including from customers who were unable to make payments,” HUR said, without providing further details. The claims could not be independently verified.

The agency said it targeted Wildberries’ digital infrastructure because the company plays an important role in Russia’s logistics network and in financing the war against Ukraine.

“The cyber operation amplified the impact of kinetic strikes by Ukraine’s Defense Forces on Wildberries warehouses, causing further significant losses for a company that fuels the aggressor’s economy and its criminal war against Ukraine,” it said.

The company has lost more than 1.2 million square meters of warehouse space due to Ukrainian attacks, according to estimates reported by Russian media, and Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said this weekend that seven of the company’s 10 largest logistics centers had been taken out of operation.

Most products sold through Wildberries are ordinary consumer goods, but the company also reportedly sells a range of military equipment on its website, including drone components and body armor.

Wildberries has not publicly commented on the latest cyberattack or the damage it allegedly caused.

Ukraine’s military intelligence often carries out cyberattacks in cooperation with hacker groups — frequently doing so to complement major Ukrainian drone or missile strikes.

In June 2025, HUR said it hacked the internal systems of major Russian state-owned aircraft manufacturer Tupolev days after Ukraine launched surprise drone attacks on Russian air bases. Last September, the agency said it hacked Russian election systems and other government services in response to voting held in occupied Ukrainian territories.
