Spanish-Dutch Police Bust Cocaine Gang in Málaga

Five suspects, including two Dutch nationals, were arrested in a joint Spain-Netherlands operation targeting a cocaine trafficking gang.

Spanish and Dutch authorities have dismantled a suspected cocaine trafficking organization operating from Spain, arresting five people, including two Dutch nationals, in a joint investigation.

The operation was carried out in the Spanish province of Málaga, where Spanish police said the group had established a base for its criminal activities. The five suspects have been handed over to Dutch authorities.

Investigators allege that the organization was involved in bringing large quantities of cocaine into Europe, including through the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Authorities also uncovered evidence suggesting that the group invested at least €4 million in suspected drug proceeds into real estate on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

The suspects are accused of membership in a criminal organization, drug trafficking and money laundering. They are also suspected of concealing assets from creditors, according to Spanish authorities.

The investigation involved cooperation between Spanish and Dutch law enforcement agencies and focused on both the alleged trafficking operation and the movement and concealment of its proceeds.

The arrests represent another joint effort by Spanish and Dutch authorities to disrupt criminal networks operating across borders between the Netherlands and Spain.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against the five suspects have not been proven in court.
